Playing Drums At The Edge Of Injury

Some update on the War Of The Bands and future plans.

We played War Of The Bands last Sunday evening at Danga Bay. We could barely hear each other play and the monitor speakers were not particularly useful. Some glitches.

We delivered the best we could though, delivering Eyes Of Good and a new song (Zaihas likes to call it Sweetsop, but Ajak got it titled something else- Lebuhraya what?). Fad played cautiously as his drums stool was about 1.5 inches away from the edge of the stage- if he was not careful, he could fall and topple off the stage to the floor, which was about 5 feet down from where he was sitting. Dangerous.

We managed to draw quite a fair bit of attention, and a number of people gathered around the back of the stage, wondering of what we were actually doing (we sounded as if we were going to tear the stage and the surrounding foodstalls down). Got some applause at the end of each song, and the judges commented that the 2nd song (the new song) was odd yet interesting. Only 5 other bands played in the competition, we played last (we actually had that exclusive Sunday evening slot reserved for us). Our friends Horizone played earlier too in Saturday, and we actually stumbled upon Beby Horizone (the guitarist) after our performance. Cool guy.

One thing we could not forget about the show was the traffic jam around the Danga Bay area, as the band competition was held at the same venue and time as TV3's Jomheboh. We had to haul our equipment back and forth from Haris' car parked about 1 km away from Danga Bay.

By the way, Farha from Rism talked to Zaihas about possibility of having a gig (Wynken Delirium included) in June @ Countach. Sounds good to us :)

And RockUnite's audition result will be out tomorrow. Not sure of what will happen. Hahaha.
