Road To Soundstage Postponed

Bummer. ROTTW alerted us that they are postponing the above to sometime in November due to some unforeseen circumstances. Nevermind. By the way, the 25 September 2005 open air show @ Countach Studio is still on, so at least there is still chance to catch us live! Gobling had confirmed last night that we will be joining Yamaha's Asian Beat 2005. More details on the way- we need to confirm the date, time, and venue first.

Last night, Farique, Muhairi, Fawaz, and Zaihas, together with Mr Hassan (from Statik) and Farique's younger bro Firdaus jammed together with a friend of ours, Alvin, and his band. The session was awesome with covers of Pantera, Metallica, and even some jazz numbers executed sometimes precisely, sometimes somewhat haphazardly. Zaihas almost lost his voice due to extreme vocal exertion. Duh. We would like to thank more friends we made last night (thanks to James, Jeremy, and all the gorgeous babes!) for friendship and also for more purchases of the EP. A big thank you from the depth of our slug-infested lungs!

Hey there Jeremy! Thanks for letting me use the cool black Ibanez Gio for one song :) -Zaihas.

I have one exactly like that at home, and I absolutely love the tone it produces. You chose the right weapon of destruction there. Thanks a lot for dropping by :)

Take care man. Cheers!

Well, I use Digitech RP14D. Bought it back in 1999 in the US for USD 799 during my study there. I checked the stores in Malaysia and Singapore for this model, but sadly it is not sold in this region. The speciality of this board is that it has a vacuum tube included inside it as part of the circuitry, so the gain/overdrive/distortion side of it is actually run through the vacuum tube- a tube amp in a floorboard, to say the least.

Not to worry though, you can get about the same tone by using Digitech RP3 (this is more widely available and more convenient to carry around as it is much smaller). I heard too that you can get a much smaller RP13, which is a newer model (minus the pedal), and that should rock as well.

Or if you got wads of $$$, go get RP20 or RP21- the ultimate Digitech efx sets!

The tone? Think Rage Against The Machine, Pantera- amongst the artists using Digitech. Heavy. Really heavy.

But again, your ToneWorks should be able to work wonders too. Spend more time tweaking around. Don't spend too much time with the modulations or reverb or chorus, concentrate on the compression, distortion/gain, and equalization. That should result in a very simple tone you can carry across amplifiers without much tweaking :)
